Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to support project financial operations. This role involves collaborating closely with Project Managers and leadership on project setup, budgeting, reporting, billing, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Proactively partner with Project Managers to collect required documentation and information for new project setup within the ERP system

Support monthly project Over/Under reports by leveraging budgeting and financial analysis experience

Review and distribute monthly KPI reports to Project and Senior Management teams, including job cost reports, change orders, and project closeout documentation

Review contract documents to verify financial details and ensure project compliance

Prepare monthly revenue projections and compile billing details for internal review prior to client submission

Review, prepare, and maintain subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, preliminary notices, lien waivers, and certificates of insurance

Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend or implement procedures, tools, or workflows that enhance efficiency and productivity

Assist management with various administrative and accounting-related tasks as needed

Perform basic office functions such as answering phone calls and scanning documents

Required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook required

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction, environmental, or related industries preferred

Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred

Prior experience working with procurement portals such as Taulia, Textura, Coupa, Ariba, or similar platforms
