Sr Engineer Materials Science-China
Kennametal is an industrial technology leader with over 80 years of experience, providing productivity solutions through materials science and tooling. They are seeking a Senior Engineer in Materials Science to lead R&D projects and develop new technologies while collaborating with various teams to improve products and processes.

Responsibilities
Lead and execute individual R&D projects
Develop and manage existing and future technologies
Integration of technology-based systems to improve products and processes
Drive cost & efficiency programs to reduce cost of products
Work well in a cross functional team
Interface with other operating groups within and outside Kennametal
Identify required resources internally, externally and across disciplines
Develop project plans
Keep projects on schedule, within budget, meeting the project objectives
Direct or support the development of project deliverables
Present project deliverables at project meetings
Work with Intellectual Property department to secure confidential agreements and ensure new ideas are properly disclosed and patented or kept as trade secret
Qualification
Required
PhD in Materials or Chemistry with major in Ceramics, Inorganic non-metallic, powder metallurgy (陶瓷,无机非金属,粉末冶金) and a few years working experience
Excellent domain knowledge and solid hands-on experiences in inorganic material synthesis, inorganic material characterization and inorganic material modelling/simulation
Good oral and written technical communications skills in Chinese and English, CET-4 or above
Preferred
BN, TiB2 and AlN related background will be preferred
Problem solving skills, Design of experiment, six-sigma
Results-driven and accountability, Creativity, Curiosity
Project management experience
A team player as well as able to execute projects and complete short-term work assignments independently
Well versed in PC software
Actively participate and enhance Kennametal 'Safety First' Culture
