Internal Auditor

Reese Law Group is a civil litigation law firm that has been representing Fortune 500 companies for over 35 years. We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to support clients in the banking and financial sectors on compliance, regulatory, and risk matters, conducting internal audits and preparing formal reports on audit results.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
Collaborate with in-house departments to develop and enhance compliance programs
Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc
Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
Maintain open communication with management and compliance department
Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum
Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards

Required

Bachelor's Degree, preferred, degree in business administration, communications, or a related field preferred
Proven working experience as Internal Auditor or Senior Auditor
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations – preferably the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act, Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act, other state consumer protection laws
High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
Sound independent judgement
Ability to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other computer software programs in an efficient manner, and to search for help in the use of such programs independently via the internet
