Senior Automotive Quality Systems Engineer (Stamping & Weld)
E&E Manufacturing Co, Inc. is an automotive supplier seeking a Senior Automotive Quality Systems Engineer to shape and sustain their quality ecosystem. The role involves leading quality for metal stamping and weld assembly operations, implementing rigorous quality standards, and driving customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.

Responsibilities
Lead quality for metal stamping and weld assembly operations, ensuring robust process control on the production floor
Build, execute, and continuously improve a supplier QMS that meets IATF and ISO requirements
Coach and direct both hourly and salaried team members; provide clear priorities and timely feedback
Apply GD&T knowledge to interpret CMM dimensional reports and recommend adjustments for production parts, samples, and prototypes
Use AIAG core tools—APQP, PPAP, MSA & SPC, FMEA, and Control Plans—to prevent defects and standardize quality practices
Navigate customer assessments and audits (e.g., VDA, SAQ) and close findings with sustainable actions
Drive structured problem solving using 8D, 5Why, Pareto charts (cause and effect), and Ishikawa diagrams; validate true root cause before closure
Investigate internal and external concerns, implement corrective actions, and verify effectiveness
Continuously reduce waste and scrap through proactive process improvement
Travel to customers and suppliers as needed for issue containment and resolution
Provide clear feedback on dimensional data to Tooling, Engineering, and Production teams
Partner with production associates to ensure proper use of measurement instruments on the line
Work safely—this is a condition of employment—and support varying work hours as business needs dictate
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required)
OEM model launch experience (required)
Preferred
8+ years in automotive manufacturing quality (strongly preferred)
10+ years in fast-paced automotive OEM/supplier environments (strongly preferred)
2+ years managing department staff
Hands-on experience with IATF certification and audit processes
Proficiency with basic computer systems (MS Office, Outlook) and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Plex)
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to read safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; comfortable interpreting written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
Applied math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic algebra)
Detail orientation, strong organization, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities; capable of solving practical problems where standardization is limited
