Responsibilities
Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios
Identifies dependencies and develops design documents for products, applications, services, or platforms
Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI)
Leverages product knowledge and partners with stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to guide project plans, release plans, and work items
Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and supports other engineers by following best practices, monitoring systems, alerting stakeholders, and initiating actions to restore service when needed
Proactively seeks new knowledge, adapts to emerging trends and technical solutions, and improves availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while maintaining consistency in monitoring and operations at scale
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience
6+ years of working experience in large scale system architecting, design, development, testing, and release, including but not limited to web applications, microservices in layers, database design, API design, performance tuning, telemetry design and analysis
3+ years of working experience in cloud-based services (Azure or AWS)
3+ years of working experience in modern web framework such as Angular, React, or Vue
Hands-on experience with modern software system design, architectural styles, and usage trade-offs
Experience with data science or machine learning is a plus
Experience of leading big initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations and leveraging deep domain expertise to influence product roadmap
