Program Assistant

High Country Adaptive Sports is dedicated to providing adaptive sports programming for the disability community. The Program Assistant will coordinate year-round activities, assist in recruitment and scheduling, and maintain communication with athletes and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Participate in the planning, on-site coordination and post-event reporting for HCAS programming for a wide variety of individuals with cognitive, development, and physical disabilities ages 4 and up
Assist PD in recruitment, registration, scheduling, and billing for HCAS athletes, groups, and volunteers
Facilitate the registration process: tasks may include speaking to prospective participants and volunteers, sending out registration information, receiving and reviewing incoming documents, communicating in a timely manner, and taking Zoom and in-person meetings
Maintain online records through HCAS database
Maintain a Program Calendar and share information about upcoming and past event via social media with HCAS athletes, families, and community members
Maintain respectful and efficient communication with athletes, volunteers and staff team of over 50 people
Support PD with data entry of programming and administrative tasks
Support PD in fostering relationships with HCAS community partners
Assist in training volunteers and upholding HCAS risk management policies and procedures
Coordinate and assist in preventative and corrective equipment maintenance
Instruct adaptive ski/snowboard lessons
Drive program vehicles, including accessible bus with ramp, and trailers up to 17’ in length
Present a professional, positive, and inclusive image of HCAS in our community
Uphold all HCAS policies and procedures
Participate fully as a member of the HCAS team

Bachelor’s Degree2+ years coordinating programsDisabilitiesPSIA/AASI L1 certificationBICP aMTB certificationWilderness First ResponderEquipment maintenance knowledgeAZ Driver’s license

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of coordinating/leading outdoor recreation programs
2 yrs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities
AZ Driver's license

Preferred

PSIA/AASI L1 ski/snowboard certification desired or willingness to obtain within first year
BICP aMTB level 1 or 2 certification desired or willingness to obtain within first year
Wilderness First Responder Certified desired
Knowledge or willingness to learn and assist in equipment maintenance and repair
