Budget Technician

Multnomah County is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Budget Technician to join their Central Budget Office. Responsibilities

Support Budget Operations: Help with the day-to-day tasks that keep our budget office running smoothly, like data entry, processing financial documents, and maintaining records
Assist with Analysis: Learn how to pull reports and gather financial data that our Budget Analysts use to make important decisions
Be a Data Detective: Help ensure the accuracy of our financial information. You'll be a pro at catching details
Team Up: Work closely with other budget professionals, learning from their expertise and contributing to a collaborative environment
Grow Your Skills: We'll provide training on budget processes, financial software, and the ins and outs of government finance

Qualification

Microsoft Office SuiteExcelData VisualizationEnterprise Resource PlanningBasic mathOrganizational skillsCommunication skillsAttention to detail

Required

Equivalent to an associate's degree
One (1) year of experience

Preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Advanced Excel skills
Data Visualization skills
Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Attention to detail
Experience communicating clearly and concisely, written and verbal
Ability to interpret and apply accounting and fiscal-related laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
