Weld/Shift Production Lead - Fall River 2nd Shift
Metalcraft of Mayville is a manufacturing company located in Fall River, WI, seeking a Weld/Shift Production Lead. This role is primarily responsible for assisting the Supervisor in overseeing all departments on the 2nd shift with a focus on manual and robotic welding, while also ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Will assist the Supervisor in directing and assisting in the work activities of the welders and employees in all departments as needed
Work with both the robotic and manual welders to ensure the parts are made correctly and schedule is being followed and on-time
Keep informed of any changes and new procedures throughout the day to stay on schedule
Communicate information, assist in resolving problems and support continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor and maintain all equipment, machines and supplies within the shop. Report shortages to the shift supervisor and perform necessary preventative maintenance
Must be familiar with all Company’s policies on quality and report to Supervisors when others in the department are not in compliance
Assist with cost savings, continuous improvements and more efficient ways to run shop operations
Follow all company rules, policies and regulations
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards
Maintains company quality, efficiency, and productivity standards
Reads job specifications (e.g. blueprints, quality control plans and/or traveler notes) to determine type of welding and material requirements
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
May perform other related duties or work at different workstations as production needs require
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with management and peers openly
Ability to efficiently assist in leading a team and coordinate work with other departments
Knowledge of welding equipment and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance
Ability to read and interpret documents like blueprints, welding symbols, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Know when to escalate issues that require additional technical or leadership support
Basic Computer knowledge
High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
Must be able to help in ALL areas of the shop, when needed
Previous experience working within a weld department
Previous forklift experience
Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment
Prior lead experience, preferably in a weld department
Microsoft Office skills. Ideal candidate would also have SAP experience
Must be willing to work flexible hours as required
