Responsibilities
Manage and oversee current safety staff of 4
Visit all Metalcraft locations and conduct safety audits and verify equipment and materials are up to standards
Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement corrective actions
Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
Work with safety team, executive team, and managers to inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
Research and implement new materials handling processes
Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts
Prepare and conduct training sessions for all employees and vendors
Preparing and enforcing policies to continue to establish a culture of health and safety
Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance
Track, record, and monitor incident metrics and apply findings
Oversee the applications for and receipt of necessary permits
Oversee work comp cases through all of our facilities
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Prior experience as a Safety Manager
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
Strong leadership, motivation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to manage and supervise employees and hold accountable to safety standards and goals
Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
Good computer skills are also required, as well as knowledge of manufacturing reporting and additional safety software
Bachelor's degree within Safety management or related field
5+ years' experience in safety
2+ years within metal fabrication environment
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
Valid qualifications in occupational health and safety
