Responsibilities
Prepare, prime, and apply topcoat on light rail vehicles
Hand, block, and mechanically sand car shells to ready them for primer and paint
Mask and clean surfaces to ensure proper coating adhesion
Apply primers and undercoats to specification
Perform routine maintenance on paint equipment and tools
Support fellow painters and the broader team as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED (or an equivalent mix of education and relevant hands-on experience in painting or related materials in a manufacturing setting)
1+ year of painting experience in a production or similar environment
Basic English skills to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, contracted services, and teammates
Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and technical documents
Competence with arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and interpret bar graphs
Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; or crawling
Regular climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders
Work on elevated platforms and perform overhead tasks
Lift and move up to 40 pounds
