Sr Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Responsibilities
Capital improvement projects - This will include the creation of design specifications, bid collection, and final acceptance of the project. Develop engineering/construction standards specifying minimum requirements for future projects (room finishes, HVAC, air pressurization, etc.)
Lead the preventative maintenance system for all manufacturing equipment and ensure compliance with scheduled maintenance activities is accomplished at all facilities. Evaluate equipment needs of production departments when requested and recommend equipment purchases as required
Analyze all department work activities, and develop and modify standard operating procedures SOP for new equipment to align with QSR requirements and ISO9000:2000 standards
Responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical plant (structure), grounds, and related building systems for all owned and leased facilities
Partner with, develop, and support the equipment and facility supervisors in hiring and leading employees. Ensure adequate training and development of all department employees
Remain current with all policies and guidelines. Implement policies and rules fairly and consistently
Demonstrate a participative management style in problem-solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement objectives
Build timelines and schedules to help facilities and equipment reliability supervisors bring projects online on time and keep the Site Leader/Director of Operations informed about the progress
Also, other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably electrical, mechanical or industrial
5+ years of successful track record in a manufacturing environment in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device industry a plus
Maintenance Experience – Capital projects and facility renovation
Demonstrated experience operating at the scale and scope required for this level of leadership
Automation design and implementation experience
Design expertise and a proven track record of delivering large automation projects
Knowledge of manufacturing / mechanical processes and equipment
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and be comfortable standing and working at a desk for extended periods. Occasionally ladder used to gain roof access
Knowledge of computer or PLC-based machine control systems. CAD experience
Proven Experience with people leadership
Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma theory and practices
Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite and mechanical and technical skills
