Business Data Reporting Analyst, Hourly – Level 2 –Data Management

The City University of New York is seeking a Business Data Reporting Analyst to support the HRIS team during the transition from CUNYfirst to Workday ERP. The role focuses on ensuring data integrity, governance, and analytical oversight for critical HR operations, including tracking approvals and managing data related to position and payroll alignment.

Responsibilities

Track, manage, and validate data related to VRB approvals, position changes, and funding sources
Responsible for ensuring accuracy in combo code management as it relates to payroll and budget alignment
Assist with the maintenance and reconciliation of contractual salary increases, step movements, and union-related adjustments
In coordination with the HRIS Manager, conducts internal audits to verify data accuracy and compliance with HR policies
Support the completion of Workday configuration workbooks and data templates
Assist in creating data dictionaries, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflow documentation for post-Workday go-live operations
Act as liaison with Payroll, Budget, and IT to ensure consistent and reliable data migration into Workday
Generate reports and dashboards to support HR leadership decision-making during the ERP transition

Required

Possession of a High School Diploma or GED
Demonstrated English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English well enough to meet minimally acceptable performance standards set for the job tasks
One (1) year of related full-time experience utilizing PeopleSoft computer software technology

Preferred

Experience in HR data analytics, position management, or HRIS systems
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with large-scale data reconciliation
Knowledge of HR policies, CUNYfirst, or similar ERP systems preferred
Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
