Responsibilities

Perform scientific and business due diligence on potential investment opportunities including primary diligence (e.g., management team presentations, data room access) and secondary diligence (e.g. academic literature, key opinion leaders, industry experts)
Prepare business and financial analyses including company projections and valuation analyses
Help prepare and revise investment related documentation including memos, term sheets, purchase agreements, and other related items
Create scientific diligence memos for various therapeutic areas of focus
Build and maintain financial models and understand industry trends as well as competitive dynamics for portfolio companies and prospective investments
Produce company-specific and general biotech reports and presentations around new and existing drugs in development as well as emerging opportunity areas
Present investment theses to key stakeholders, including our advisory board and Investment Committee
Manage key aspects of the investment process, including internal diligence workstreams
Maintain internal databases relevant to the team
Work across multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of communication and coordination
Collaborate with professionals across the team and firm and positively contribute to the overall culture

Required

Undergraduate degree in life sciences and/or relevant graduate degree (MD, PhD, MS, MBA)
High degree of fluency in scientific and medical related topics, including human biology, physiology, and disease pathology with an ability to come up to speed quickly across therapeutic areas
Familiarity with stages of drug development and ability to evaluate preclinical and clinical data sets
Familiarity and experience with financial modeling including discounted cash flow and three-statement modeling
Strong analytical ability, creativity, thoughtful business judgment, and professional maturity
High energy level, strong communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for investing
Outstanding organizational and communication skills, ability to multi-task, and manage various deadlines
Desire to collaborate with colleagues throughout the firm globally
Ability to work seamlessly with senior and junior investment team to drive investments forward

Preferred

Prior work experience in life sciences related field preferred (e.g. consulting, banking, investing or operating company)
