Lexington School District Two is seeking a CTE- Business, Marketing, and Digital Technology Teacher to deliver interactive and innovative instruction while managing a positive learning environment. Responsibilities

Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in the subject field
Develops lessons that are appropriate for instructional objectives; employs a variety of instructional strategies focused on student achievement
Implements teaching strategies that incorporate higher-order thinking skills and maximize allocated instructional time
Assigns developmentally appropriate tasks; provides remediation activities to ensure student understanding
Creates and maintains a positive learning environment by implementing appropriate behavioral supports, interventions, and management strategies
Integrates a variety of technology applications and tools to augment student learning
Administers various types of assessments to monitor students’ progress and as required by District and State testing policies
Follows grading policies and regulations in monitoring and evaluating student progress; maintains/updates all required attendance and academic records in a timely manner
Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for instructional assistants and volunteers; evaluates their performance as required
Promptly reports incidents or concerns such as fights, suspected alcohol or substance abuse, possession of weapons, student or other health/safety concerns, etc., adhering to appropriate policies and procedures
Promptly reports suspected instances of child abuse and/or neglect as required by applicable South Carolina laws, District policies, and school procedures
Ensures a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for their behavior
Assists and enforces school rules, Board policies, and administrative regulations
Carefully supervises and monitors students in various activities and settings, including the classroom, hallways, field studies, bus loading areas, etc
Adheres to the highest standards of confidentiality concerning sensitive matters, students, and staff

Required

Business and Marketing Education, Digital Technology Education
Must possess a valid South Carolina teacher's certificate in Business and Marketing Education with appropriate supplemental training in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and other Digital Technology
Successful candidates will be proficient with a variety of technology equipment including Macs, PCs, and media marketing and certification in digital technology software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Animate
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents
Skill in oral and written communication
The employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit
The employee from time to time may be required to lift significant amounts of weight up to and exceeding 25 lbs
The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as boxes of books and AV/VCR carts
The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff

Preferred

The preferred candidate will possess AP certification in Computer Science or Kickstart courses
Candidates with a valid Statement of Eligibility from a state-approved alternative certification program are also encouraged to apply
