The Staff Civil Engineer will support large-scale engineering and construction projects by providing civil site design solutions, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, and ensuring effective execution of civil design tasks.

Responsibilities

Execute assignments requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out civil engineering tasks

Develop civil construction specifications

Support of substation and transmission line physical design consisting of layout, conduit, grounding, site and work pad development, and erosion and sediment control

Perform basic stormwater calculations to size culverts, ditches, and stormwater retention/detention facilities using stormwater modeling software

Coordinate with multi-discipline design teams including geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission line, substation, GIS, and construction management team members

Develop written reports and/or provide verbal communication of information in a professional and appropriate manner

Work under supervision of Project Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Project Manager in a professional office setting

Perform occasional site visits to project sites located throughout North America

Work under supervision of Engineering Director and/or a Senior Engineer in a professional office setting

Qualification

Civil EngineeringEngineer-in-Training (EIT)AutoCADMicrosoft OfficeCommunication Skills

Required

bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) certification with an interest in obtaining Professional Engineer licensure

excellent written and verbal communication skills

proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams

ability to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office setting

Preferred

1 to 2 years design experience as an intern, junior engineer, or as part of a co-op or collaboration program

familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation
