Responsibilities

Solicit support from key officials in community groups, local agencies, the court, and other county partners serving families and children to encourage citizen volunteer participation

Assure sufficient number of citizen volunteers are recruited, screened, trained and supervised to perform the required duties of a Guardian ad Litem in court proceedings

Develop positive community relations to promote commitment to the program and also educate the public about the Guardian ad Litem program

Supervise GAL staff in office and/or satellite office and conduct performance evaluations

Initiate and participate on state, district, and county interdisciplinary task forces and committees to assist in the development of statewide Guardian ad Litem policies

Responsible for required data collection and reporting

Conduct interviews for new staff
