Responsibilities

Reads and interprets work orders, work instructions, drawings, and specifications

Sets up and operates specified machines, making machine adjustments where necessary to produce required results

Inspects test coupons and parts, using a variety of precision measuring instruments

Ensures tools and machines are maintained in clean and proper condition

Maintains a clean and orderly work area

Performs tasks as requested by manager/supervisor

Follows all company policies and all safety procedures, including wearing of required personal protective equipment

Required

Experience as a machine operator

Ability to set up, adjust and operate machine shop tools, primarily manual lathes, optical comparators, and other QA inspection equipment

General knowledge of machining methods and techniques

Use of precision measuring instruments to verify conformity to print specifications

Flexibility and a strong desire to learn

Commitment to being a team player

Ability to work within deadlines and production schedules

High School diploma or its equivalency

Skills and knowledge in the set-up, adjustment and operation of machine shop equipment

Ability to read and interpret work orders, comparator charts, drawings and specifications

Skill and knowledge necessary to understand basic GD&T and utilize shop math and measuring instruments

Knowledge of and adherence to the Quality Policy and Standard Operating Procedures

Motivated, focused, and clear thinking

Ability to work safely and utilize good housekeeping

Preferred

Technical school training, apprenticeship programs, or similar equivalents
