Seasonal Park Guide (Fee Collection)
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is seeking Seasonal Park Guides to assist with visitor services during the busy April-October season. The role includes collecting fees, providing information and guidance to visitors, and presenting educational talks and tours.

Responsibilities
Collect appropriate fees at park entrance station, visitor center, campground, and other visitor contact stations following established accountability guidelines for handling government funds. Safeguard funds collected
Present informational talks, guided tours, and demonstrations following a prescribed outline to various audiences to inform or educate
Respond verbally to visitor inquiries for information, direction, and guidance
Provide direction to, information on, and orientation regarding services or activities of interest to the public
Serve as the front-line representative to greet customers and answer questions

Required
U.S. Citizenship required
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation
You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle
Government housing may be available
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
To qualify for this position at the GS-0090-03 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least six months of general work experience (Obtained in either the public or private sectors). General work experience is (1) Any type of work that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation
EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 1 year of study above high school that included at least 6 semester hours in courses such as American history, science, and/or public speaking
Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience
Your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked
If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/16/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking
Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
