Responsibilities

Show professionalism in your daily data center routine activities for a shift in a 24/7/365 working environment

Be able to work on a shift schedule that rotates (12-hour shifts), including weekends and holidays

Be punctual in arriving for shifts on time and provide proper handover reports after shift to the next team member(s)

Receive/ship data center equipment as needed

Install, Remove, and Troubleshoot hardware in data centers racks without disturbing other hardware and critical infrastructure

Maintain asset inventory and update internal application as needed

Be accessible via cell phone and willing to work on onsite emergencies as needed

Participate and complete training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies

Act within Service Level Agreements (SLA) on the tickets assigned to you in your space

Required

3-5 years working in a Data Center IT environment with knowledge of critical data center infrastructure power and cooling

Knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with server/storage/network hardware

IT Hardware Concepts knowledge: RAID, SAN, X86 and GPU Architecture, Linux/Unix, Boot Process, GRUB/LILO, File Systems, Network Device configuration

Inventory management experience. Ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts

Ability to prioritize work based on business needs and urgency

Ability to communicate and write effectively in both verbal and written communication mediums

Experience assisting on-call technicians and ability to respond to critical events as needed

Experience advancing issues to Senior onsite staff and management as needed

Excellent time management skills

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Be a good team player

Strong curiosity and interest in learning new DC concepts and technology

Conscientious, dependable and trustworthy

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Able to climb a 9 ft Ladder

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including correspondence and presentations

Preferred

2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience

Prefer 10+ years of data center experience

5+ Years of Enterprise or Cloud Data Center Experience

Linux administration knowledge or other command line interface knowledge/experience

Data center networking knowledge

Experience in Data Center Infrastructure projects

3 year+ experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber and testing of cables

2 year+ experience in Cooling and Electrical systems concepts inside the data center

Experience in repairing and working on enterprise server hardware

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
