Responsibilities

Serve as Welcome Center staff and call center attendant, providing professional in-person and telephone customer service to students, prospective students, corporate partners, and other visitors to the college

Provide administrative support to the Admissions department to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of daily office flow

Provide general back-up support for the Admissions Specialist and Testing Center

Current Resume (Required): Must list employment dates (month and year) for each position and indicate average hours worked per week

Ability To: Answer questions politely via phone, email, virtually and other written or electronic correspondence

Skill in: Customer Service sufficient to (1) Schedule and confirm customers' appointments in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence; (2) Provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email

Skill in: Word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents, letters, memos, emails, etc

Skill in: Data entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely manner

Occasional moving of articles and objects (up to 25 lbs.)

Maintain a stationary position or moving for a prolonged period of the day

Use a keyboard and phone for extended periods of time which may include repetitive motion

Preferred

Post-secondary degree

Experience working in higher education setting

Experience providing direct service to internal and external stakeholders in higher education

Experience using Minnesota State databases such as the Integrated State Record System, D2L and e-Services

Experience with Connect - Customer Relation Management system

Knowledge and understanding of data privacy laws (ex: FERPA)

Self-motivated/self-disciplined

Ability to think critically
