Outside Sales Representative

GW Murphy is a rapidly expanding, family-owned distributor and retailer of roofing materials and building supplies. They are seeking a driven, customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to grow market share, build lasting relationships, and exceed sales goals within an assigned territory.

Responsibilities

Achieve and exceed sales targets while driving revenue growth within the assigned territory
Build, maintain, and grow relationships with contractors and key accounts
Prospect daily to identify new business opportunities and acquire new customers
Present, promote, and sell exterior building products including roofing, siding, windows, and waterproofing materials
Identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations
Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals
Monitor market trends and competitive activity
Track sales activity and performance using CRM tools
Collaborate with branch operations and internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
Develop strong partnerships with customers and vendors
Rapidly expand product knowledge with support from Sales and Marketing leadership
Participate in weekly oneonone meetings with the Director of Sales and Marketing
Build personal networks and engage in professional associations
Win business and consistently meet or exceed quota objectives

Required

Proven success in outside B2B sales and territory management
Minimum of 3 years of experience in exterior building materials or construction-related sales
Strong negotiation, closing, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using CRM systems and sales technology
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Independent self-starter who thrives in a competitive environment
Strong relationship-builder and 'people person'
Reliable transportation
Willingness to travel locally within a 60-mile radius of branch locations
Local travel only (no overnight travel required)

Preferred

Knowledge of roofing industry products and offerings
B2C sales experience encouraged
Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
