Responsibilities

Leads laboratory experiments utilizing standard techniques and equipment
Collects data related to cephalopod embryology and genomics
Handles animal care
Performs microscopy and data analysis
Performs general laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies
May process orders or invoices, or undertake other duties under the direction of administrative personnel
Other related duties as necessary

Required

College background in Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or other similar field
At least two years of lab experience with imaging, molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics
Undergraduate degree (B.S. or B.A.) in any of the following biological or physical sciences: Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or other similar field
At least 4 years of prior experience working on interdisciplinary research
Direct experience with confocal imaging
Experience with basic molecular biological tools
Experience handling cephalopod or other marine embryos
Strong background and proficiency in biology
Enjoy working in a collaborative team with others
Knowledge of standard laboratory practices
Familiarity with general laboratory equipment
Highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently
Ability to work occasionally at night or on weekends
