Intern - Critical Minerals Security Program (Spring 2026)
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit organization focused on global security and prosperity. The Critical Minerals Security Program is seeking a Research Intern to support research activities, staff events, and maintain the program's social media presence, contributing to the development of policy solutions related to critical minerals supply chains.
International Affairs
Responsibilities
Provide research support for individual scholars and projects related to critical minerals supply chains and policy
Monitor key developments and issues related to critical minerals supply chains
Compile, organize, and analyze relevant critical minerals data
Provide logistical support to the Program staff for administrative tasks as needed, including event staffing and routine office work
Attend events and lectures by CSIS and external organizations to take notes and write de-brief summaries
Assist in promoting the Program’s public events and publications on Twitter & LinkedIn
Qualification
Required
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be at least a college junior in good standing, an advanced student, or a recent graduate
Excellent research skills required
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Good judgment and ability to work independently and with a team
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Strong computer skills
Preferred
Ability to commit 35 hours a week preferred
Ability to work in-person at CSIS headquarters
Experience with data collection and management preferred
Candidates with a demonstrated interest in the mining sector and critical minerals are preferred
