Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking an Electronic Security System (ESS) System Admin Engineer to serve as the primary system administrator for a Department of Defense customer in the Hampton Roads area. The role involves the installation, configuration, and oversight of Electronic Security Systems, along with providing hardware and software support, customer service, and documentation development.

Responsibilities

Conducts security system database administration and provides hardware and software support

Responsible for configuration management of all attached systems and users

Provides customer service, service request, and work scheduling support for contract services and tracks and reports on all contract service activities. To include keeping records on special projects, system infrastructure, component naming conventions and related trackers

Provides on hand hardware components documentation and supply tracking records for the ESS system for usable materials and service and support equipment

Responsible for the development of ESS documentation to include survey reports, drawing packages, test plans and procedures, training documents and maintenance plans

Read and interpret customer requirements and develop responses to requests for information, proposals and quotes

Develop, read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electronic system schematics, technical data packages and installation design plans

Develop, read and interpret system test plans and procedures

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on security engineering needs and requirements regarding system performance, installations, and maintenance programs

Provide recommended improvements to existing systems and designs using industry best practices

Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of security wiring & power circuits

Required

At least three (3) years of experience working and engineering integrated electronic security systems to include servers, workstations, CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems and components showing installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Systems and Devices

At least one (1) year experience working with Network Devices not limited to switches, routers and wired / wireless systems in support of electronic security systems

Qualifying experience must be within the last two (2) years

Must have a current DoD 'Top Secret' security clearance with the eligibility to upgrade to 'SCI'

Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, & kneel up to 75% of the time

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering or computer science

Certifications or technical training is highly desirable (Lenel, Milestone, Security+. CISSP)

Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP) Certification

Familiarity with DoD ESS requirements

Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and practices such as grounding and electrical safety

Proficient in AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design applications

Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and Adobe Acrobat

OSHA 10- or 30-hour Safety Certification

CPR and First Aid Certification

Familiar with and have a working knowledge of a multitude of systems including but not limited to: DoD and DoS Security Systems and requirements, Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems such as Lenel, Vindicator, AMAG, and DMP, IP CCTV Surveillance Systems such as Genetec, Axis, Pelco and Milestone, Perimeter Protection Systems such as Southwest Microwave, Fiber SenSys and Protech, Mass Notification Systems such as Federal Signal SelecTone and SiRcom, Mechanical and electromechanical locking systems (electronic strikes, magnetic locks, etc.)
