Mid-level Documentation and Security Specialist
ASRC Federal is a leading government contractor furthering missions in space, public health and defense. They are seeking a Mid-level Documentation and Security Specialist to join their Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) team, providing 2nd Level Engineering support in security solutions and documentation generation while ensuring compliance with FAA standards.

Responsibilities
Provide 2nd Level Engineering support in security solutions, data entry, documentation generation, and document storage and maintenance in FAA standards
Conduct analysis and provide field support
Coordinate with stakeholders on security solutions, mitigation, implementation, development of documentation, etc
Develop, write, and edit technical material for test plans, security solution designs, reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related highly technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures
Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail
Be required to research, implement and/or maintain security solutions within Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance
Be required to obtain and maintain Federal security clearance
Create, maintain, and update: Comprehensive technical documentation, including System Design Documents (SDDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), User Manuals, and System Maintenance Guides. Version-controlled records of all system changes, including adaptation data, software builds, and security updates. Documentation templates, style guides, and security checklists to improve consistency across TFDM artifacts. Training materials and quick-reference guides for TFDM system users, including cybersecurity best practices and secure operational procedures
Develop and maintain: Site-specific documentation (e.g., Site Implementation Plans, Cutover Checklists, and Acceptance Test Reports) to support deployment activities. Security documentation required for FAA Authority to Operate (ATO), including the System Security Plan (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). Logs of security patches, updates, and system hardening activities
Coordinate with/Act as liaison between: FAA cybersecurity teams to ensure TFDM systems comply with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and other federal security standards. Program management, cybersecurity teams, and operational users for all documentation and security-related matters. Support security and prepare documentation audits by internal FAA teams or external agencies. In the planning and documenting of security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans. Software engineers, system integrators, and deployment leads to capture accurate technical and security details for documentation
Track and document: Identified vulnerabilities, ensuring they are addressed through remediation or documented risk acceptance. Artifacts, ensuring they are accurate, current, and compliant with FAA program requirements, assurance policies and access control measures. Test results and coordinate with system engineers to close security gaps. Enforcement of document classification, encryption, and storage protocols
Recommend improvements to security documentation workflows, including automation tools and version tracking systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and seven (7) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field
Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and five (5) years related work experience in a computer science or math field
Provide 2nd Level Engineering support in security solutions, data entry, documentation generation, and document storage and maintenance in FAA standards
