The Benefits Specialist is a key role within the Human Resources Department, responsible for assisting employees with benefits enrollment, verifying insurance billing, and ensuring compliance with benefit regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist with administration of various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits

Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system as needed

Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction

Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit inquiries

Ensure distribution of required employee notices

Assist HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements

Administer retirement plans, including 401(k), pension, and other employer-sponsored plans, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements

Coordinate plan setup, contributions, distributions, and compliance testing

Able to work and complete all legally required audits across multiple business units

Other duties as assigned
