Responsibilities

Utilize Knowledge of industry standards (UL508A, NEC, IEEE) to design and specify hardware and software for industrial control systems
Configure PLCs, OITs, and SCADA Systems for industrial process and water/wastewater systems
Lead intermediate-level projects independently, mentoring and guiding other team members
Lead field commissioning efforts, including I/O checkout, functional testing, and system startup of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, and instrumentation
Troubleshoot real-time issues across automation hardware, software, and communication networks
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and end users to ensure smooth implementation and customer satisfaction
Provide field service and technical support post-installation as needed
Redline drawings, document commissioning activities, and support project closeout efforts

Required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in automation design, programming, startup, service, or commissioning roles
Proficiency in PLC/HMI/SCADA systems such as Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View), Siemens, Schneider, GE, VTScada, Ignition, etc
Strong understanding of industrial networks: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, serial protocols, and wireless communications
Ability to interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics
Field-ready attitude, with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety
Comfortable working in industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater environments
Strong interpersonal skills and customer service mindset
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently

Preferred

Experience with GE iFIX, Schneider Unity/Control Expert, or Siemens TIA Portal
VFD startup certifications (ABB, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.)
Experience with instrument calibration and loop checks
OSHA 30 or other industrial safety training
