Technical Sales Engineer

They are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to lead technical customer engagement and solution design for operators across the Permian Basin, blending engineering knowledge with strategic sales to improve production efficiency.

Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with E&P operators across the Permian Basin
Lead technical conversations with Production Engineers, Field Superintendents, Optimization teams, and Asset Managers
Deliver solution recommendations based on lift type, failure trends, well conditions, and operator objectives
Build region-specific forecasts and maintain pipeline accuracy in HubSpot
Provide pre-sales engineering support including sizing, configuration, and solution architecture across rod lift, ESP, and gas lift wells
Evaluate operator failure modes, downtime root causes, and production trends to showcase Amplified’s ROI model
Lead pilots, trials, and field tests; ensure seamless hardware installation and data integration
Conduct on-site demos, production reviews, and well optimization consultations with engineering teams
Act as a technical advocate to ensure customers capture maximum value from Amplified’s AI/ML insights
Partner with Customer Success to monitor deployments, review alarms, and identify expansion opportunities
Provide market feedback to Engineering and Product regarding feature requests, lift-type enhancements, and real-world failure data
Support marketing with case studies, field content, and operator success stories specific to Rocky Mountain basins
Participate in regional trade shows, events, and industry groups (SPE, ALRDC, DUG Rockies, etc.)

Required

3+ years of experience in production engineering, artificial lift, field operations, or O&G technology solutions
Strong understanding of at least one lift method: rod lift, ESP, gas lift, plunger lift, or general optimization
Technical literacy in sensors, SCADA, automation, electrical systems, or wellsite hardware
Ability to translate engineering problems into clear commercial value cases
Excellent communication skills with comfort presenting to both field and leadership teams
Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a fast-paced growth environment

Preferred

Prior experience in a technical sales, production optimization, or digital oilfield role
Familiarity with AI/ML insights for production, surface sensor systems, and remote monitoring platforms
Existing network within Permian operators
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent industry experience
