Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day paralegal workflows, ensuring high-quality support across complex litigation matters
Manage, mentor, and develop paralegal staff through training, feedback, and regular one-on-one check-ins
Coordinate with attorneys, vendors, and case teams on deadlines, trial logistics, document production, and court procedures
Maintain an active caseload while meeting billable hour expectations and ensuring team-wide compliance with federal and state court rules
Assist with matter staffing, workload distribution, and recommendations to improve departmental processes and efficiencies
Support recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations, and resolution of employee relations issues in partnership with HR
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required; ABA-approved paralegal certificate strongly preferred
Minimum 8 years of litigation paralegal experience, including significant trial and deposition work
Minimum 2 years leadership or supervisory experience within a law firm setting
Strong proficiency with litigation tools (Relativity, Lexis/Westlaw, PACER, SharePoint) and federal/NY state e-filing systems
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to lead by example
Ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain professionalism under pressure, and support the development of junior talent
Preferred
ABA-approved paralegal certificate strongly preferred
