Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
Fortune Personnel of Houston, Inc. is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join the Engineering Services department at a major integrated petrochemical manufacturing facility. This role involves the specification, design, and maintenance of instrumentation for plant operations, while also developing maintenance and reliability strategies related to this instrumentation.
Responsibilities
Provides technical support for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of the plant's instrumentation systems and equipment, including low voltage electrical systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)
Investigates instrumentation equipment failures and recommends actions to enhance the system and equipment reliability
Develops instrumentation/low voltage electrical equipment specifications and associated reliability improvements/upgrade plans for that equipment
Provides technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and change packages
Assists in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for instrumentation equipment
Serves as a technical resource to maintenance technicians
Maintains instrument networks/linkages with other plants and central engineering resources
Understands and interprets ExxonMobil's instrument practices
Has a working knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISA, NEC, IEEE)
Has knowledge of electrical area classifications and is familiar with acceptable methods of satisfying the requirements of equipment installations in hazardous areas
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
4 + years Manufacturing Chemical plant experience in instrument engineering

Good interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal form for the purpose of instructing others in technical matters and obtaining cooperation from various personnel
Comprehensive knowledge of an experience in one or more of the following areas: Routing/Switching, Cyber Security, Wireless
Basic knowledge of API guidelines for instrumentation
Work experience in petrochemical production units and awareness of surroundings from a safety and environmental point of view
