City Of Johnson City is seeking a Park Service Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled manual work in park maintenance. The role involves operating trucks and mowing equipment, maintaining public facilities, and participating in construction and maintenance activities.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Performs or serves as the lead in building and park maintenance: buildings, pavilions, structures, offices, bathrooms, hallways, shops, grounds, shoreline, docks and garbage collection

Programs and rentals: assist with set-up and cleanup of programs, events and special events, as required

General horticulture practices: weeding, weed-eating mowing grass, pruning, fertilization/other chemical applications, trimming, edging and snow removal

Digs and backfill ditches by hand

Assists or serves as lead in the installation of irrigation

Operates mowing equipment and machinery

Mows golf course greens, fairways and rough

Participates in construction and maintenance activities related to assigned equipment

Reports need for maintenance or repair of equipment

Participate in manual labor incidental to the job such as loading and unloading of equipment

Perform unskilled or semiskilled maintenance in the park service field and construction tasks

Work may follow well-established routines

Work is reviewed by a superior for quality, quantity, safety of operation and care of equipment

Responsible for the maintenance of indoor and outdoor facilities, open green space, outdoor areas, and athletic fields
