Responsibilities

Develops and implements a robust activity program tailored to resident interests and needs
Completes required documentation in a timely manner, and tracks attendance and participation in activities
Creates and distributes a monthly activity calendar
Plans and submits an activity budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines
Coordinates set up and preparation for special functions and events
Organizes, sets up, and leads daily group and individual activities, including but not limited to lectures, social gatherings, outings, and entertainment events
Visits and engages with new residents shortly after moving in to assess their interests and introduce them to the activity program
Organizes and chaperons off-campus outings to locations such as museums, theaters, restaurants, and sporting events
Coordinates volunteers, and works closely with outside vendors, to enhance program offerings
Assists with emergency procedures, including fire drills and resident safety instructions
Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations and standards
Attends and participates in staff meetings and training programs
Supervises and schedules assigned activity staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
Adheres to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Required

Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
High school diploma or equivalent
A valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster

Preferred

College degree in recreation, healthcare, or related field
Previous experience in activities coordination with a senior population
Prior experience in hospitality, dining services, activities, or senior living
