Entry-level Structural Bridge Engineer - 2026 - Charlotte, NC
LJB Inc. is a national engineering firm specializing in civil and structural engineering, geospatial solutions, and safety and environmental consulting. They are seeking an Entry Level Structural Bridge Engineer to join their Transportation Practice, focusing on the design and analysis of bridges and infrastructure projects to enhance community quality of life.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with team with structural analysis and/or design of bridges (including steel beam, prestressed concrete beam, concrete slab, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge hydraulic analysis, bridge rehabilitations, bridge feasibility studies, bridge structure type studies, bridge load ratings, railroad bridges, and design-build pursuits)
Prepare drawings, plans, and technical specifications for bridge and roadway projects
Conduct load ratings and structural evaluations of existing bridges
Support field inspections and data collection efforts
Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to solve engineering challenges
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations
Contribute to project documentation, including reports, calculations, and cost estimates
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Structural emphasis preferred
1-5 years of bridge/culvert design experience
Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred
EIT Certification
Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD
