The NYS Office of Information Technology Services is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming) to support mainframe applications for the Department of Correctional Services and Community Supervision. Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and/or maintain mainframe applications in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment using IBM Enterprise COBOL, CICS, CA-Easytrieve Plus, JCL, and DB2 SQL
Support, perform, and document all phases of a system development lifecycle
Develop functional program designs
Develop and maintain stored procedures, subroutines, batch and interactive programs
Code, test, and debug programs
Gather business requirements and ensure user acceptance
Provide user support for the assigned applications
Provide status reports for assignments in a timely manner

Required

Candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming)
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated SG-16 or higher eligible to transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law
Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications and a current 55b/c eligibility letter
Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following: Either 1. a bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; Or 2. a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; Or 3. 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; Or 4. two years of experience in information technology
