Traffic operations analyses
Safety studies
Signal system design
Signal timing plans
Maintenance of traffic
Pavement markings and signage
Highway lighting design
Corridor studies
Assist in the preparation of traffic engineering designs and plans for transportation projects
Stay up to date on transportation engineering guidelines, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance in project designs
Ability to work in a team setting collaboratively with group of other traffic and transportation/civil engineers
Ability to identify project issues and facilitate resolution
Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency
Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
Occasionally visit work sites, monitoring project progress and reporting findings
Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site
Occasional travel may be required
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Masters degree in Civil Engineering
1-3 years' experience
Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, SIDRA, TransModeler, VISSIM
AutoCAD/MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads Designer and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and Congestion Management Guidelines
Preferred
EIT Certification
Experience with Travel Demand Modeling Software (TransCAD, CUBE)
