Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) is an employee-owned consulting engineering and planning firm. They are seeking a Landscape Architecture / Planning Intern to gain exposure to the field and develop foundational skills while contributing to meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced team members.

Responsibilities
Assist with writing, designing, and formatting portions of a project or plan
Develop graphics for visual communication and performing data entry for inclusion in plans, reports, and meeting content
Provide technical/CAD drafting support
Organize files, records and necessary data/information
Perform and summarize research regarding municipal zoning and other code and ordinance requirements and examples
Perform field inventories and analyses of project sites and study areas to prepare written documentation of observations and conditions
Assist with public engagement and outreach related to planning projects including attendance at miscellaneous meetings or community events as may be required by the project (some may be after normal business hours in the evenings and/or on weekends)
Communicate with external clients and work collaboratively with a team
Work under the supervision of an assistant project manager, project manager, or senior-level team member
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Qualification
Required
Student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning or related field
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
Working knowledge and familiarity of AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred), ArcGIS, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), 3D Modeling (Sketchup and/or Rhino), and experience with virtual reality is a plus
Design and graphic skills and the ability to generate and articulate design concepts and solutions
Basic plant material knowledge specifically of Pennsylvania plants is a plus
Ability to learn and apply applicable codes and regulations
Team player possessing strong communication and organizational skills and strong writing skills
Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc
Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
Valid US Driver's License is required
Legal authorization to work in the U.S
Preferred
