They are seeking Attorneys I, II, III, or IV to assist and defend the Accused in various legal matters, including criminal charges and juvenile delinquency cases, while providing full representation to individuals in need of appointed assistance of counsel.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Initiates, engages, and defends litigation; performs legal research; reviews and prepares legal documents; renders legal advice to clients; performs factual investigations

May supervise junior staff; handles appeals

Supervises and reviews work of staff attorneys; performs organization and administrative duties

Under general supervision, supervises professional legal services of unusual difficulty; performs other legal services as assigned. Supervises and reviews the work of staff attorneys serving as Attorney I, II and III

Required

Graduation from an accredited law school and admission to the State Bar of Arizona for all levels (I, II, III, IV)

Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and ability to be covered by county insurance for all levels (I, II, III, IV)

Minimum of two (2) years of relevant legal experience for Attorney II

Minimum of four (4) years of relevant legal experience for Attorney III

Ten (10) years of relevant legal experience and significant trial or litigation experience required for Attorney IV

Preferred

Preference may be given to individuals who speak Spanish

Preference may be given to individuals with governmental experience

Preference may be given to individuals with experience in criminal, appellate, and/or dependency case law
