Payroll Specialist Consultant
Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Specialist Full-Time Engagement Professional to support multiple clients and high-impact projects. The role involves processing multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with HR and accounting teams on payroll-related data.
Responsibilities
Process multi-state payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Review, validate, and reconcile timesheets, wage calculations, and deductions
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Resolve employee payroll inquiries and troubleshoot discrepancies
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to coordinate payroll-related data and reporting
Prepare and submit payroll reports to management
Support payroll audits and assist with filing quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
Qualification
Required
2+ years of payroll processing experience, ideally in a multi-client or multi-state environment
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices
Proficiency with major payroll software systems
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication skills and a commitment to outstanding service
Preferred
Experience supporting payroll for temporary staffing or consulting environments
Certifications such as FPC or CPP
