Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil

Metric Geo is partnered with a well-established heavy civil contractor seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to support complex water and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for producing accurate, competitive estimates across multiple delivery methods while collaborating closely with estimating and project teams.

Responsibilities

Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to fully define project scope
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using production-based and unit-price methods
Analyze constructability, material requirements, and labor/equipment needs
Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing
Assess subcontractor capacity, bonding, and performance history
Develop bid packages and support bid reviews with project leadership
Assist with post-bid buyout and subcontractor coordination
Participate in subcontractor meetings and pre-award discussions
Ensure estimates align with contract requirements, including diversity compliance

Required

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar preferred
8+ years of experience estimating heavy civil or water infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and market conditions
Advanced proficiency with estimating software and computer tools
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
Strong communication, organization, and deadline-management skills
Willingness to travel occasionally to support bids in other regions
