Survey Technician II
Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG) is a nationally recognized consulting engineering firm. They are seeking a Survey Technician II responsible for project preparation, technical execution, and mapping documentation, while collaborating with a Professional Land Surveyor and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
Gather and organize project documents to streamline survey processes
Collect and review property records to establish boundaries for properties, rights of way, and easements
Perform calculations and drafting using Autodesk Civil 3D to ensure seamless field-to-finish capabilities in collaboration with a CAD Survey Technician
Conduct field data collection with survey instruments such as Trimble Total Stations, GNSS Receivers, and Digital/Automatic Levels
Analyze survey data in Trimble Business Center to ensure accuracy and quality
Prepare survey maps, property descriptions, and exhibits, confirming accuracy and completeness
Review and interpret record plans, including those related to land development, railroads, and rights of way
Prepare or direct the creation of Land Title and As-Built plans
Work closely with the Professional Land Surveyor to review property lines, survey data, and mapping outcomes
Maintain well-organized records and ensure proper care of survey equipment
Foster strong relationships with clients and the community, serving as a positive representative of the firm
Qualification
Required
High school diploma with 5+ years of varied field experience in land surveying
Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center Office, survey equipment and coordinate geometry concepts
Team player that is self-motivated, can work independently, and has excellent planning skills
Strong communication (verbal, written, and listening) and records organizational skills
This position will require the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc
Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
Valid US Driver's License is required
Legal authorization to work in the U.S
Preferred
Associate's Degree in Surveying or related field is beneficial
Professional Surveyor License or desire/plan to obtain license is a plus, but not required
Knowledge of MicroStation, Leica Cyclone 3DR, Pix4D Mapper, and DJI software a plus
