Mainframe Developer
Seneca Resources Company, LLC is seeking a Mainframe Developer responsible for analysis, design, coding, and testing of application code. The role involves maintenance, enhancement, and development work while collaborating with team members to ensure design and code meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Responsible for analysis, design, coding, and component/assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team
Involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work
Work with the Business Analyst, Application Architect, and other Application Development Team members on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meet customer requirements
Translate technical Impact documents into desired coding/application programming
Analyze and understand existing products and their implementation to determine best methods to add and/or change features and functionality
Produce deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assist in post implementation support and system enhancements
Extensively test and debug programming code so that systems applications operate substantially error free
Learn the Mainframe system and DB2 database structure to facilitate analysis and programming requirements
Provide development status updates to management on a regular basis
Qualification
Required
Must possess a strong knowledge and use of COBOL, CICS, and SQL or DB2
Must be able to translate technical Impact documents into desired coding/application programming
Must analyze and understand existing products and their implementation to determine best methods to add and/or change features and functionality
Must produce deliverables related to the project(s) assigned and assist in post implementation support and system enhancements
Must be able to extensively test and debug programming code so that systems applications operate substantially error free
Must learn the Mainframe system and DB2 database structure to facilitate analysis and programming requirements
Must provide development status updates to management on a regular basis
Preferred
Full-time professional work experience in the development and support of IT applications
Successful completion of an IT Certification program, accredited college, and/or graduate training may substitute for the required work experience
5+ years of experience in computer programming utilizing Mainframe technology to manipulate databases or files
2+ years of experience in system analysis and designing computer systems
