Responsibilities

Draft/review and respond to substantive pleadings, motions, and discovery

Attend/chair hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings with clients, as well as negotiate settlements

Assist with trial preparation and/or attend trial

Must be competent & proficient in the use of Word, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint & Excel

Communicate in a highly effective manner with team members and clients

Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Required

Member of Florida Bar in good standing, required

Strong skills in legal research, writing, and persuasive oral advocacy

Preferred

5+ years of civil or commercial litigation experience, preferred

Previous experience in civil and commercial litigation is preferred

Background in premise liability, construction, and other complex litigation is a plus

Previous experience in insurance defense is an asset, though not mandatory
