Ascendo Resources is a well-established boutique HNW/Fiduciary Tax firm seeking an experienced Trust Tax Manager to join their collaborative team. The role involves managing trust and estate engagements for high-net-worth clients, overseeing fiduciary tax return preparation, and providing strategic tax planning support.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex fiduciary income tax returns (1041s), estate returns, and foundation filings
Collaborate with estate and gift tax specialists on planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families
Interpret and apply trust and estate planning documents (e.g., wills, trusts) to client engagements
Recommend tax-efficient strategies to minimize client liabilities and support long-term planning
Train, mentor, and guide associates and seniors on trust taxation and client service best practices
Act as a key point of contact for client communication and issue resolution
Stay current with changes in fiduciary tax law and best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Strong knowledge of trust, estate, and fiduciary tax compliance (1041s)
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Proficiency with tax software (GoRS or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

Master's in Taxation
CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation
5+ years of fiduciary tax experience (public accounting or professional services environment)
