Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Ensure proper classification of all financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles
Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate entries
Assist in the preparation of payment schedules and ensure payments are made on time
Monitor and follow up on overdue invoices to ensure timely collection
Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
Assist in preparing reports for management regarding financial performance
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a monthly basis
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues found during reconciliation
Assist in preparing and maintaining detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Help track and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances
Support senior accounting staff in preparing ad-hoc financial reports as needed
Assist with the preparation of sales tax, payroll tax, and other compliance-related filings
Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Provide necessary documentation and assistance as required for third party request
Assist with special projects as needed
Provide support to other departments with accounting-related inquiries

Required

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP)
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data
Good organizational and time management skills
Analytical Skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
