The Database Administrator 2 will implement and maintain database operations, conduct performance tuning, and ensure security and integrity controls while formulating policies and procedures for database management.

Responsibilities

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases

Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general

Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements

Maintains security and integrity controls

Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization

May develop stored procedures and/or triggers

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
