The Supply Chain Specialist 3 is responsible for purchasing complex materials and services, negotiating with suppliers, and supporting the Additive Manufacturing strategy.

Responsibilities

Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical materials, supplies or services
Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service
Follows up on all awards until completion of order
Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes
Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery
May provide work leadership for lower level employees
Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities
This role will support the Additive Manufacturing Make VS. Buy development strategy, accelerate the use of AM and other technologies across and into the supply base, and work directly with NAVY/MIB personnel to develop suppliers for Additive Manufacturing

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications: NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
