The successful candidate will gain experience in U.S. debt underwriting and advisory, supporting the Investment Grade DCM team and potentially rotating onto the Debt Private Placements team.

Responsibilities
Support the Investment Grade DCM team with analytical, financial modeling, structuring, research and transaction support
Assist in executing transactions in a constantly changing market environment
Build relationships both internally and with clients
Qualification
Required
You are enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a Business, Economics, Engineering or related discipline at the time of the internship
Expected graduation date of December 2027 – June 2028

Location: New York. Please note all employees reside within the United States. All CIBC student positions require you to be based in New York for the duration of the term
Duration of Work Term: 10 weeks (June 2027 – August 2027)
Knowledge of business, economics and/or finance acquired through education and experience
Strong interest in and knowledge of financial markets
Strong technical, computational and analytical skills
An understanding of credit analysis and accounting principles
Ability to manage multiple tasks, while maintaining strong attention to detail
Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts
Proven ability to contribute to high performance teams
Ability to work within a non-public information environment requiring adherence to strict internal procedures
