Field Data Technician - Northeast
Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is a long-standing organization specializing in services for the electric utility and telecommunications industries. They are seeking Field Data Technicians responsible for collecting technical information about utility and telecommunication facilities in an outdoor environment, requiring travel and physical activity.

Responsibilities
Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data that supports the engineering and design of fiber optic cable facilities. This will include measurements of attachment heights, span distances, angles, etc
Submit organized, detailed data for each project that could include maps, field notes and digital images
Operate and maintain equipment that would include tablet computer, digital camera, measuring tools and Personal Protective Equipment
Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and our customers
Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the project management team
Work safely and independent of supervision
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and have the desire to actively participate in physically demanding work lifting 15 to 20 lbs. on a regular basis
Basic proficiency with computers including the ability to read, interpret and follow GPS maps
Ability to follow process specifications and guidelines in an extremely high-quality, high paced environment
Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions
Must have reliable transportation
Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
Present a professional appearance and attitude
Demonstrate high work standards and attention to detail with a quality orientation
Embrace core values of the company
Minimum 1 year of outdoor work-related experience
Minimum 1 year working in a role that required following a safety program or safety protocols (must provide details)
Minimum 6 months experience working in a quality-controlled environment (must provide details)
Minimum 6 months experience traveling to various work locations to include occasional overnight stays
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Preferred
Technical background preferred
Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus
Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus
