Senior Advising Development Specialist - Office of Advising Development and Student Systems

They are seeking a Senior Advising Development Specialist to lead and enhance transfer advising initiatives across various educational institutions, ensuring a seamless transition for students into UIC.

Responsibilities
Sets and leads the training curriculum, library of materials and delivery system for all entities involved in the pathways for transfer to UIC include high schools, community colleges, and UIC units and staff
Accountable for the outcomes and overall results of shared curricula and pathway collateral delivered to transfer partners both internal and external resulting in the successful degree transition to UIC
Demonstrates expert competency in degree curricula and certifications, with the ability to clearly articulate relevant knowledge to pathway developers and advising staff. Effectively communicates college advising policies and degree program updates, highlighting their impact on transfer pathways
Provides oversight for the creation of best practices for coordinated advising across transfer institutions, high school counseling staff and maintain updates and professional development for all entities related to transfer pathways
Collaborate with the Office of Transfer Articulation and Degree Audit, Enrollment Management units, and college officers to develop and maintain pathways trainings and accurate information and timely updates
Foster a seamless transfer experience for students through close collaboration with staff at the Office of Admissions, Office of Student Systems Services (OSSS), faculty, college advisors, administrators, and other internal and external partners
Presents, evaluates, and refines training approaches based on outcomes and feedback for transfer pathways advising to internal and external UIC stakeholders and leadership
Plans, assigns, and reviews staff to ensure alignment with university goals and successful project outcomes. Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and managing staff to maintain a qualified team capable of meeting institutional objectives
Represents the university when communicating with outside groups including subject matter experts from transfer partner institutions
Establish and maintain a communication schedule to update progress to a variety of stakeholders and ensure deadlines are met
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's degree required
Minimum of five years of administrative experience in advising, higher education, or a related field
Experience designing and delivering training and professional development
Excellent written communication, public speaking, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
