Cost Accounting Supervisor

Responsibilities
Supervise team of senior accounting personnel located in Houston, TX
Provide support to Regional Accounting Manager and site Business Partners
Be a key liaison with Business Support Center teams, reviewing outputs and accounting while answering and addressing issues
Perform trial balance and internal financials review
Support Finance and company-wide initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure internal controls are properly designed and operating effectively
ASC606 compliance
Review and approve journal entries (including topside journals, if any), account reconciliations, and key control tasks for direct reports
Prepare and provide monthly financial reports to management
Complete all other assigned daily, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks
Support internal and external audit processes ensuring requests are fulfilled timely and questions are properly resolved
Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to team members on a regular basis on their individual performance & complete annual performance process as per company requirements
Constantly support team in their professional development; initiate and oversee a performance improvement plan if necessary
Provide regular feedback to direct reports and manage their career progression
Plan and assign tasks and activities to direct reports, ensuring work is appropriately distributed and all deadlines can be met
Ensure compliance with Flowserve policies, US GAAP, SOX and local statutory laws and regulations and that business is conducted within Flowserve's ethical code of business conduct
Ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete and submitted in accordance with Flowserve’s timetables
Where required, ensures that local statutory returns, secretarial matters and other fiduciary matters are efficiently dealt with
Maintain an excellent customer service attitude and performance with both internal and external customers
Maintain a positive professional attitude and demeanor
Work towards enhancing team unity in department
Maintain good punctuality and attendance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
Strong financial background with 5 or more years of relevant experience
Experience in a supervisory role and/or manager experience
Possess a strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls
Ability to work with minimal direction, possess problem solving skills, and self-motivated
Excellent analytical abilities, communication and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interact with associates and leaders throughout the organization
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office products
Preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting experience preferred
Experience with Syteline, Blackline, BPC and/or SAP a plus
